Shawn is a player I’ve really been checking out lately, and I had no idea that he had this drum & bass kind of groove — definitely a departure from Saturday Night Live. This music is really pretty great, IMO. I was once told by a college friend of Shawn’s that he used to have a terrible time feel, to the point where he couldn’t play with a metronome. He said, “Shawn figured out how to really play with a click, and he’s been busy every day since then.” Something to think about…
